Dr. Harter bought Dr. John Freeze’s practice in July of 2014. He is extremely excited to be back in his hometown practicing dentistry and giving back to the community he grew up in. He prides himself on treating every patient as if he were treating his own family to ensure a comfortable and relaxing experience. His experience, keen creative sense, and artistic eye lend themselves to outstanding results benefiting the patient a lifetime with brighter, refreshed smiles and added confidence. Dr. Harter and his professional team’s gentle and caring ways lend themselves to an excellent and comfortable experience for the patient in a family friendly environment.


Dr. Harter was born and raised in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He graduated with his Bachelors in Chemistry from the Southeast Missouri State University. Dr. Harter received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, School of Dentistry in 2012. He furthers his education by taking postgraduate courses and training to keep up with the perpetually changing dental field and technology. He offers the most technologically advanced state-of-the-art dentistry in restorative and cosmetic dentistry supported by the expertise of his highly trained, experienced team of dental professionals. He is highly respected and regarded by both his dental peers and patients. Dr. Harter is an active member with the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Missouri Dental Association and Southeast Dental Society. 


Dr. Harter believes in giving back to his community and has volunteered his services to many local organizations and charities. 


Dr. Harter resides in Cape Girardeau with his wife Jamie and their two children Chase (4) and Addison (1).  Outside the office, Dr. Harter enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, fishing, hunting, boating, golfing and Cardinals baseball.
